Anneli Power

Meet the Founder

My name is Anneli Power, and I’m the founder of Call Me Crazy. I’ve lived the experience this app is made for, feeling different all my life due to shyness, bullying, and years of struggling with mental illness.

I spent years looking for a space like this: where I could meet others who knew what it felt like to be outsiders, who shared my hobbies and interests, who lived nearby, and who finally made me feel validated and seen.

When I couldn’t find it, I decided to build it myself.

Frequently asked questions

What is Call Me Crazy?

Call Me Crazy is a social wellness app designed to help people who feel different, isolated, or like they don’t belong find genuine connection. Whether you are looking for friendship, emotional support, or shared hobbies, this app helps you connect on your terms.

Who is this app for?

It’s for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, people who are shy, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, dealing with mental health challenges, or just longing for real connection and understanding.

What are the connection modes?

You can choose from three modes: Mate Mode (friendship), Mentor Mode (emotional support from trained volunteers), and Mingle Mode (groups based on shared hobbies and interests).

Is the app free to use?

The base version of the app will be free forever. We may offer optional premium features to help support the community, but access to connection will never be paywalled.

When will the app launch?

We’re aiming to launch a beta version in winter 2025. Your support through our crowdfunding campaign brings us significantly closer to that goal!

Can I join the community early?

Yes! Early users will receive special updates, behind-the-scenes content, and access to a private support circle before the public launch.

Is there a way to volunteer?

Absolutely. If you’re interested in becoming a trained peer mentor or helping behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you. A volunteer sign-up form will be available soon!

Can I support even if I do not use the app?

Yes, and thank you! Your support helps build a safe space for people who truly need it. You’re making something beautiful possible.
